Chairman/President of Beach Cities Republicans
Bio is Coming Soon!
1st Vice-President, Programs
Tracy J. Hopkins is the 1st Vice-President of Programs for the Beach Cities Republicans.
She more actively joined local politics in 2009 when she became aware of her city
government's efforts to expand their reach into the lives of residents by passing a local
ordinance that seemed unnecessary.
Tracy helped to establish the MOMS Club in the South Bay in the mid 1990s, becoming its
first Vice-President and later Co-President. It has since grown to a thriving support group for
moms throughout the area. Tracy co-founded and leads the volunteer run Hermosa Beach
Neighborhood Watch (HBNW). The group expanded to approximately 100 block captains in
the first 3 years. HBNW is now in its 10th year of serving the community. Tracy worked to
establish the Hermosa Beach Emergency Preparedness Advisory Commission and was
appointed by city council as one of the first commissioners. She is currently in her second 4
year term. Tracy is also a specialist on the Emergency Preparedness committee for her
church, covering several cities in the South Bay. She helped to introduce and currently
provides training for the 9 step disaster response training program - Map Your Neighborhood
(MYN) which has been adopted throughout the South Bay, L.A. and Harbor area. The
program helps to connect neighbors and train them on how to secure their home and protect
their neighborhood immediately following a disaster.
Tracy is married to her husband Mark, an engineer who works for a local aerospace company.
They have been married for 26 years and have lived in Hermosa Beach for nearly 24. Tracy
is a stay-at-home mom. She enjoys keeping informed about current events that concern the
protection of our freedoms outlined in the United States Constitution and she enjoys sharing
the information with others.
Tracy enjoys walks on the beach, occasional body boarding sessions with her husband, and
is very active in her church.
